Rutherglen Trinity

Presentation of specially designed wall hanging by S2 students

Thank You to Comboni Missionaries

For a number of years the S2 students of Trinity High School have had the opportunity to participate in a retreat day as part of the religious education curriculum. The theme for this day has been choices and is delivered by yourselves, the Comboni Missionaries and the RE staff in Trinity High. As ever, we the S2 participants were extremely moved and touched by the experiences of you, Sr. Aurora and Fr Donato. We learned through your experiences that we should be grateful for what we have, to never give up and to do all we can to overcome difficulties that we may face in life. We also recognized that faith and prayer have a place in choosing our own correct path in life and that with each other’s support then good things can be achieved. After returning from retreat, we and Mrs. Qaren Ali (Active Breaks support worker) wanted to do something to thank you for your continued help and support of everyone here at Trinity High. Over a period of six weeks, (including many lunchtimes) 18 students led and supported by Mrs. Qaren have created what we think is a beautiful wall hanging. The wall hanging, has been designed by ourselves based on what we felt and learned from our retreat day experience. Each symbol links to what both Trinity High School and the Comboni Missionaries strive for, peace, happiness and love. We are now going to explain what each part means to us. Before we make the presentation the RE department and class 2m2 and 2ml would like to thank Mrs. Qaren Ali for her wonderful work with this project. So on behalf of everyone here today we would ask Fr. Donato and Sr. Aurora on behalf of the Comboni Missionaries to receive this wall hanging as a gesture of thanks and appreciation of all the work and support they have given to us over the years. We hope that this partnership will continue for many years to come.
